With the investment in the FIBERLASER D SOAR PLUS 4020 DNE, we are sending a clear signal for the further development of our manufacturing. This acquisition not only replaces an existing system, but also represents a strategic leap in technology in terms of performance, precision, and process reliability.
The demands on modern manufacturing continue to increase. Speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness all must be met equally today. To ensure we can meet these demands in the long term, we have deliberately decided to invest early in state-of-the-art laser technology and strategically expand our production capacities.
Our previous laser system served reliably for many years. However, looking to the future, it became clear that new technological possibilities offer decisive advantages. Developments in laser technology have enabled significant progress, especially in performance, efficiency, and machining quality.
The new fiber laser brings these potentials into our daily practice. It increases process stability, improves cutting quality, and creates additional capacity for demanding applications. This not only secures our current level of performance but also lays the foundation for further growth.
A key advancement lies in the significantly higher performance of the new system. With 30 kW, the fiber laser opens up expanded processing capabilities, especially when it comes to thicker materials. Moving forward, we will be able to cut steel with material thicknesses of up to 80 millimeters economically and precisely. This considerably broadens our manufacturing range.
The new technology also optimizes the processing of aluminum and stainless steel. For our customers, this means more flexibility and a wider range of realizable projects from a single source.
In addition to material variety, speed plays a crucial role. Depending on the material, cutting speeds of up to 15 meters per minute are possible. This noticeably reduces processing times and increases throughput. Especially for recurring parts or larger quantities, this efficiency has a direct impact on deadlines and planning reliability.
Another technological advantage is the cutting head with additional axes. This allows not only straight cuts but also precise bevels and countersinks to be made directly during the laser cutting process. Operations that previously had to be performed after the main process can now be integrated directly. This saves time, reduces coordination efforts and ensures consistently high quality.
With the new system, not only is our speed increasing, but also our portfolio. Projects can be implemented more comprehensively and cost-effectively. The greater level of in-house production reduces external processing steps and minimizes interfaces. This increases transparency, improves quality assurance and reinforces schedule reliability.
Our customers benefit from a stable process chain and clearly defined responsibilities. Complex requirements can be efficiently implemented without the need to involve additional service providers.
Modern fiber technology operates much more energy-efficiently than older systems. At the same time, the new system improves the technical stability of our production. The risk of unplanned downtime is reduced and our delivery capability is secured over the long term.
These aspects are not visible in the finished component, but they have a major impact on reliability and cost-effectiveness. Stable production creates planning security and forms the basis for sustainable partnerships.
With the introduction of the new laser, we have also initiated another important step. In the future, our machine programming will be fully standardized. Different software solutions from various manufacturers have previously led to additional coordination efforts and increased training requirements.
By switching to a uniform software solution, programs, databases, and inventories will be consolidated. This reduces system changes, simplifies the onboarding of new employees, and increases our independence from individual manufacturers. At the same time, a modern and stable workflow is created, which sustainably strengthens our processes.
The investment in the new fiber laser demonstrates our commitment to working with state-of-the-art technology and offering our customers the highest quality over the long term. Higher performance, increased speed, expanded processing options, and stable processes are tangible benefits that become clearly apparent in day-to-day project work.
We see this purchase as a logical step towards future-proofing and competitiveness.
