InterAirport Europe Fair in Munich

Together with our subsidiary LockTec GmbH we exhibited from October 6 - 9, 2009 at the InterAirport Europe Fair in Munich.

At our Stand we showed our intelligent locker and security solutions.

Starting from electronic, keyless left-luggage lockers up to personnel access locks with biometrics and metal detection and pass-through gates: We develop and deliver the right solution based on your requirements.

NEW: LockTec demonstrated the new solution for so-called "prohibited items" in passengers' hand luggage: GoAndSmile.com - the intelligent delivery service.

While passengers do not longer have to dispose those items that are forbidden for the hand baggage, GoAndSmile takes care and delivers these parts to any address you wish. This new idea has found great interest amongst the fair visitors. More information can be found under www.goandsmile.com !

SecurityExpo 2009 in Munich

On 8th-9th July 2009, we exhibited intelligent security solutions at the "Security Expo Munich" ín the ICM International Congress Center Munich.

On our stand, we had exhibits on the following themes:

Securing public building entrances, monitoring by means of personnel Lock systems with metal detectors, biometric personnel Locks to prevent tail-gating (e.g. to secure cash-handling areas and data centres).

The Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann visited our stand at the Exhibition. On account of current events, e.g. the bloodbath at Dresden District Court, he was particularly interested in potential preventative measures to secure the District Court building. SITEC’s Managing Director, Olaf Clausen, explained that, by e.g. installing a personnel Lock with a metal detector, at the outset you prevent dangerous items and weapons being smuggled in. This security solution has already been successfully installed in over 42 District Court buildings in North Rhine-Westphalia.

SITEC Technology stops Bank Robber

An attempted bank robbery on 5. February 2009 aroused the interest of the media in SITEC GmbH's fast-rising security screens, which protected both people and money in the bank branch concerned. "Technology stops Bank Robber", was the headline of an article on 12. Februar 2009 in the 'Fränkischer Tag' newspaper.

SITEC Security Counter forces Bank Robbers to Flee

— "Bank Robber flees empty-handed"

this was the headline in the 'Fränkischer Tag' newspaper on 6. Februar 2009. The Sand am Main Branch of the Savings Bank is equipped with Security Screens from SITEC. On 5. Februar 2009, a masked bank robber attempted to rob the bank.

An alert employee triggered the security screen as the armed robber pushed his rucksack over the counter. In a split second, the metal screen shot up and protected the cash desk.

The bank robber then fled.

You can find the newspaper report on the attempted robbery here.

Geschäftsführer Olaf Clausen (rechts) mit den SITEC-Jubilaren

At SITEC's annual end of year celebrations, tribute was paid to seven employees for their long service:

25 years:  Edgar Hader and Ulrich Möckel
20 years:  Martin Welscher
10 years:  Sven Heinz, Karlheinz Schwabe, Udo Stöcker and Thomas Welsch

In his review of the year, Managing Director Olaf Clausen emphasised that "2008 was altogether a good, stable year for our 85 employees."

Mr Clausen thanked the employees for their enthusiasm and personal dedication, particularly as some of the employees spend several weeks abroad in difficult circumstances, e.g. to furnish embassies or national banks with SITEC's latest security technology.

SECURITY 2008 in Essen

From 7th-10th October 2008, SITEC GmbH exhibited its wide range of security products at the 18th "SECURITY" Exhibition in Essen.

We would like to thank very much those who visited our stand at the exhibition.

Our modern stand presented SITEC's full current range of products.
Our AXXES biometric personnel access door, in a fully glazed design,  was particularly popular.

New TRUMATIC L 3040 Laser Cutting Machine from April 2008

Our sheet metal processing is always up to date - and in 2008 we are again investing in new technology.

Our Trumpf L 2503 flat-bed laser has been "discharged from duty" and replaced by a new TRUMATIC L 3040 flat-bed laser from the Trumpf company in Ditzingen.

Our new laser cutting machine allows us also to process large-size sheet metal, dimensions 3000 x 1500 mm. Cutting output for aluminium is 10 mm, for stainless 15 mm and mild steel 20 mm.

This new machine ideally complements our Trumatic L 6000 combined punch-laser machine.

With our modern machinery, we manufacture both for our own production, and also for other companies. Whether you need shaped parts, chamfered parts or complete components, you can depend on us for all your requirements.

Deutsche Bundesbank Berlin: Largest Order in the history of the Company

In the Autumn of 2007, we completed our largest order since the company was founded:

SITEC supplied partition walls, doors, furnishings and money transfer units to the new offices of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Berlin, at a value of 3.5 million EURO.

The partition walls and doors were not 'off the shelf' products, but were custom made to designs by Hermann Architects from Stuttgart.

The partition walls, doors and transfer units we supplied had to meet a variety of specifications:

  • no particular security requirements
  • sound-absorbing
  • bullet resistant
  • break-in resistant, and also partly
  • fire resistant

It was, of course, a particular challenge to combine various specification criteria.

We completely fulfilled the builder's requirement that there should be no visible differences in the products.

In addition to doors, partition walls, impact protection and furnishings, we also installed 12 P9500 money transfer units, which are used for cash transactions within a curved extension to the building.

November 2006: Roof Construction for Qatar

Würzburg firm MERO-TSK placed an order with SITEC GmbH for the manufacture of triangular stainless steel plates for the wave-like roof shade at a shopping centre in Doha - a city of approx. 338,000 inhabitants in the desert State of Qatar in the Persian Gulf.

MERO-TSK, a leading manufacturer of filigree roof and venue structures (e.g. Lehrte Station, Berlin), mounted these perforated sheet metal plates onto its patented MERO-TSK space frameworks. The roof has an approximate size of 20,000 sq.m.

This was a real challenge for SITEC GmbH, from production and marking of the many different 3.2 mm thick stainless steel plates, through to packing and despatch.

April 1999: Personnel Access Lock for the County Court in Essen

The so-called "Nivel Trial" aroused great media interest. The trial of 4 German hooligans, who fatally injured policeman Daniel Nivel during the 1998 Football World Cup in France, took place at Essen County Court, which underwent major alterations in the run up to the trial.

Investment was particularly high in the security of the Court building and SITEC GmbH's know-how in the field of security technology was particularly useful: from the hands-free intercom through to the bullet resistant partition walls, glazing, personnel access locks and transfer trays, SITEC designed, manufactured and installed the whole entrance area. A description of the construction specification provided by the Court's representatives can be found here.
